Early Advantage MBA (EAMBA), Professional MBA (PMBA), and Executive MBA (EMBA) students in their first or second year of the program are eligible to be paired with a business professional for six months to discuss professional development opportunities and career information.

Student Leadership Advisory Board (SLAB) members have direct influence in shaping the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) programs for students while networking with business leaders. Membership is open to first and second year Early Advantage MBA (EAMBA) and Professional MBA (PMBA) students.

Leadership Coaching offers students the opportunity to enhance and develop their leadership potential! The one-on-one coaching takes place in a confidential setting with a professional who has worked, coached, and/or consulted in the work-world.

After completing one of the Leadership Tracks during their first year and pursuing the Certificate in Leadership during their second year, Professional MBA (PMBA) and Early Advantage MBA (EAMBA) students are eligible to compete in three rounds of the Truist Distinguished Leader of Merit competition, which recognizes students who best exemplify the qualities of ethical, responsible, and thoughtful leadership. One student is awarded the Distinguished Leader of Merit and two other students are awarded Leaders of Merit at the Annual Leadership Awards Dinner in the spring.

Students receive recognition at the Annual Leadership Awards Dinner in the spring and at their Commencement ceremony. Recognition will be for the Leadership Track(s) of their choice, which is achieved when students complete the criteria within the Leadership Track they pursue.

Sabrina Deshner is the Associate Director of the Center for Leadership Development at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. She is responsible for managing and implementing the leadership programs for the Center. Sabrina has more than 15 years’ experience in curriculum development and training. She was previously the communications and employee engagement manager at Seminole State College of Florida. She also held positions in student life at Seminole State and worked in various roles for the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida

Sabrina holds a Master’s in Human Resources from Rollins College and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida.

Dr. Misty Loughry joins Crummer with over 20 years teaching experience. Her most recent experience in teaching was at Georgia Southern University where she taught management. She was previously a member of the management faculty at Clemson University where she taught strategy. She also taught strategy and organizational behavior at the University of Florida. Prior to beginning her academic career, Dr. Loughry worked in banking, where she held positions including credit analyst, branch manager, and assistant vice president of small business lending.

Dr. Loughry’s research centers around control in organizations and teamwork, and her findings have been published in multiple journals. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for Academy of Management Learning & Education, and she has been a co-principal investigator on three National Science Foundation (NSF) grants totaling $4.3 million.

She is a co-developer of the CATME SMARTER Teamwork system of web-based tools to support teamwork in higher education classes. The CATME Peer Evaluation and Team-Maker tools won the Premier Award for Excellence in 2009.

She holds a Ph.D from the University of Florida with concentrations in strategy and organizational behavior. She also received her MBA from Loyola College in Maryland.
