A Vision for Crummer’s Future: Dean Anil Menon’s Town Hall Message
03
Rollins Announces New Dean of Crummer Graduate School of Business

Anil’s career has been forged at the intersection of business innovation and market disruption. Anil Menon’s career reflects the evolving narrative of capitalism, where values, technology, and societal impact converge. As a transformative business leader, Anil’s track record isn’t just defined by revenue generation, but also by his ability to forge sustainable business models anchored in customer loyalty and societal enrichment.

By now, you have probably heard of our new dean, Anil Menon, but do you know his vision for Crummer and ideas for the future? On December 12, Dr. Menon held a town hall event, answering questions from Alumni Board President Austin Montgomery ’17MBA as well as inquiries from attendees. Dean Menon began addressing the group by getting personal, sharing his love of the Wild West and classic country music.

Of great interest was the dean’s observations from the first three months. Dr. Menon emphasized that there has been a systemic change in MBA schools: Stanford enrollments have declined for MBAs, and Harvard’s placement has dropped. Schools need more hybrid options as well as badging or certifications to build a degree or concentration over time. There needs to be more of a focus on executive education with more partnerships with the business community. Crummer is a smaller, more intimate school and while that won’t change, we do need to become a little bit larger to have more of an impact. Dr. Menon also posed the questions: What is our value proposition? Why Crummer? He stated we need to shift away from a functional approach to a value creation and growth model.

Rollins welcomes Anil Menon as its new dean of the Crummer Graduate School of Business. This is a strategic move on the part of the College to meet the demands of a shifting business landscape that requires technically sound, culturally sensitive, value-driven leaders. In this vein, Menon brings a broad range of experience and a proven track record of academic excellence to Rollins that aligns perfectly with Crummer’s efforts to reimagine traditional MBA education for the future.

“Business leadership has never been more challenging in a world of rapid change, marked by unpredictable market dynamics, technological advancements, environmental concerns, and evolving social paradigms,” says President Grant Cornwell. “Now, more than ever, we need resilient business leaders who can navigate these changes, spearhead innovation, and drive sustainable growth. With his unique blend of academic and business leadership expertise, a strong belief in a student-centric approach to teaching, and commitment to innovation, I believe Dr. Menon is the ideal choice to lead the Crummer Graduate School of Business.”
